Staycation York is in the Historic grade II listed Rowntree's Wharf building, and one of the Cocoa Suites. This one bedroomed self contained apartment has been sympathetically converted to retain original features, whilst providing modern amenities. It is located in a quiet area, just 5 minutes walk from the City Centre. Whilst you can explore nearly all that York has to offer on foot from this amazing location, allocated car parking for one car in the on site secure parking is provided free of charge to guests for the duration of their stay. In addition, there is disabled parking and parking to charge electric vehicles (additional charge for both apply) on site. You can also enjoy relaxing in front of a large flatscreen smart TV with access to all of your favourite apps such as netflix, prime etc, access our free Wifi, and enjoy dual aspect views of the river . The bedroom has a high quality King Size bed with medium/firm mattress and plenty of wardrobe space. Whether you are planning just a few days, or a longer stay, there is everything you need. Our self check in service allows you to arrive at any time after 3pm on your check in day, and leave any time before 10.00am on your day of departure. On occasion we can offer early check in or late check out for an additional charge. We are also able to arrange further optional extras (additional charge applies) for your apartment such as balloon arch, chocolates, fresh flowers and more for special occasions, or a grocery starter pack for you. The living area is spacious, with a four seater sofa that you can stretch out on after a day of sight seeing, as well as enjoying a meal in the dining area, separate from the well equipped kitchen. Ruth has spent most of her life living and working in and around York, and even after moving away at times, has always returned to this beautiful city. The location of the apartment is just 5 minutes walk/2 minutes drive from both Waitrose and Morrisons if you wanted to stock up on supplies for your stay, but also extremely close to the city centre. Walk just 5 minutes alongside the river to the city centre, and you emerge at the fabulous restaurants and eateries of Fossgate/Walmgate on one side, and the famous Shambles and it's Harry Potter shops on the other. It's also an ideal location for anyone attending an event or concert at The Barbican, which is less than a 10 minute walk away. If you're arriving by train, the apartment is about a 10 minute taxi ride from the station. Whilst so near to the City Centre and all it has to offer, the Cocoa Suites benefit from being in a quiet area where you can enjoy some peaceful downtime. There is always something to do and see in York, from the Viking Festival, Ice sculptures and Christmas Markets in Winter to York Races, River Cruises, Festival of Ideas and events in the summer, to fabulous Theatre, Museums and more all year round, we'll always let you know what's on at the time of your visit.
