I'm sure you'll feel very comfortable and cosy here, whatever time of year you choose to stay. I love introducing guests to Exmoor, or welcoming them back to this beautiful part of England. It’s a stunning yet often overlooked area of the country. As a guest once wrote in a Visitors’ Book, “We asked ourselves why we had driven past Somerset for years when everything we wanted and more was here.” And I believe that’s true. To one side is the sea and inviting beaches, to another purple heather humming with bees on the moor, and in between a patchwork of villages, peppered across the land, with local artisans and independent businesses that you're going to love. A spacious and contemporary architect-designed converted barn, oozing character and style, Stone Barn sleeps six in three bedrooms each with its own bathroom. Rated Five Star Gold by VisitEngland. There’s a pretty enclosed garden with furniture for al fresco dining - and don't forget the large hot tub to relax in after a day exploring Exmoor. We have on-site parking for one vehicle. There is on-road parking steps away for additional vehicles. Retaining much of the original building, this fully renovated property boasts original beams and repurposed timbers. Its open-plan kitchen makes for sociable self-catering. Friends can gather on the large couch with a cheeky glass of their favourite tipple whilst they watch the cook working their magic! In the winter, there’s an electric flame effect fireplace in the custom-built media unit, which has Sky and Netflix too. There two bedrooms downstairs - a super king with en-suite that can be configured as a twin, and a king with en-suite. Upstairs is the double bedroom we call ‘The Snug’ with a shower room next door. Get into the Exmoor spirit by marvelling at Exmoor’s Dark Skies from the hot tub, or relax in the garden being serenaded by birds, bleating lambs and the church bells.

Stone Barn is in the quietest and prettiest part of the Victorian town of Minehead alongside beautiful whitewashed thatched cottages at the foot of the historic church steps. The cottage is within an International Dark Sky Reserve and guests can enjoy the constellations from the garden. Choose to relax in the peaceful surroundings of the cottage or take a short stroll to the bustling seaside town for its sandy beach, historic harbour, parade of shops, farmers market, and cafes, pubs and restaurants serving traditional food and drink. Minehead is also the terminus of the heritage railway and the first section of the south-west coast path from Minehead to Porlock. Walkers will love our complimentary Little Book of 12 Exmoor Walks and guests can enjoy discounts on water sports, a round of golf, or an indulgent pamper treatment, at Exmoor Character Cottages. For a full day out take the car to explore Exmoor’s stunning moorland and its world-famous ponies, visit the medieval village of Dunster with its listed buildings and a fairy tale castle, or head out to the scenic A39 for the Holnicote Estate, the breath-taking Jurassic coast, and the seaside resort of Lynton and Lynmouth.
