Temple-Effin, which owes its name to the local townland, is a completely refurbished self-contained cottage. Temple-Effin cottage has two bedrooms (one upstairs with one double and one single bed) and a ground floor single bedroom, living room with a welcoming open fire, kitchen, bathroom and a rear area ideal for al fresco dining, as well as a private garden area. Parking is available at the front of the cottage. Free Wi-Fi is available to use.

Hello all and welcome! I am excited to be able to help guests feel at home at my quaint cosy cottage, Temple-Effin . I have owned Temple-Effin Cottage for for many years and having recently renovated it, I decided to make it a holiday let for guests to enjoy. I was born in Belfast and grew up in Whitehead. My family and I love coming 'home' to visit friends and family and explore/ revisit this beautiful area. Personally, I find coming 'home' very relaxing and is my favourite place to recharge the batteries! My son loves it and when he was a toddler he thought Whitehead was like being on the Island of Sador (Thomas The Tank Engine). I will do my very best to make your stay comfortable. It is the perfect touring base for many attractions in Northern Ireland including the dramatic Victorian coastal walk of the Gobbins Pathway only 1.2 miles away from Temple-Effin Cottage. Breathtaking walks and cycle routes abound or if it’s a round of golf you want from a clifftop course, then Whitehead Golf Club less than a mile away won’t disappoint. I highly recommend a walk up to Blackhead Lighthouse (1.1miles from the cottage). If you continue on this walk it will then leads you down to Whitehead Promenade and into the town where there are some fabulous cafes great local amenities.
