Hosts were welcoming, accommodating and always going the extra mile to make sure we were okay. Enjoyed sitting watching the sun go down on the countryside view. A great place to call 'home' while we explored the Cotswolds by car. Superb!

Come and enjoy a quiet, peaceful and relaxing stay with us in glorious countryside surroundings at Thames Head Wharf. The bedroom offered in this listing is a quiet peaceful comfortable warm space complete with a modern en suite facility. The room has a full wooden beamed ceiling with timbers reputed to be over 500 years old, beautiful to look at when relaxing in the sumptuous, cotton linen, king size bed. Available at bedside is plenty of electrical and USB sockets and also bedside lamps and main lighting switch options. The room has a large array of storage and hanging space as well as large mirrors and a small sofa. There is a large flat screen monitor/TV with WiFi internet connection. The connecting en suite facility has a wide basin, toilet and large walk-in shower. A heated towel rail keeps the large towels provided dry and warm. Shampoo, conditioner, shower creams, hand and body lotions and a few extras are provided as well as bottled water and a few snack treats ! Views from the room windows overlook our gardens and the stunning countryside with gentle rolling meadows and hills. There is a selection of outdoor furniture plus a BBQ for relaxing also an alfresco dining !
Welcome to Thames Head Wharf, a former Thames & Severn Canal building, now restored as a stunning historical Cotswold home, originally built as a warehouse in 1784, we have lovingly brought this once neglected building back to life. Chris & Ann would like to welcome and invite you to have a relaxing and peaceful stay in our country Cotswold home. Set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) with glorious and stunning open countryside views, away from the hustle and bustle of town life. We have plenty of parking here at Thames Head Wharf, no need to book or reserve. Best is to arrive by car but we have a train station (Kemble) nearby or the National Express bus stops off in our nearest town, Cirencester. Taxis are plentiful for train and bus arrivals....or if we are available and with notice, we may well be able to pick you up instead of calling a taxi. Located 3 miles from the Roman town of Cirencester. We look out to the area known as the Source of the River Thames and also the Thames Path. Note - The spring, lake and beginning of the River Thames is viewable during rainy periods throughout the year but then mostly dry and below ground during the drier summer months.
