The Artist Retreat is a stunning studio apartment with king size bed, seating, tv, fully-equipped kitchen, dressing room, a big walk-in shower and private courtyard garden for sitting and outdoor dining. We provide you with local bread, Cornish butter and semi skimmed milk and a selection of teas and nespresso coffee machine.with biodegradable coffee pods from the Eden project Cornwall. Set on a quiet unadopted road with superb views and parking. Please use what3words app sketch.blotchy.trails to get directly to your parking space. Please be aware parking space is on a narrow road ( please see last three pictures) with no turning area, you will need to reverse back 30 metres to turn into our lovely neighbours drive. There is alternative parking on Sand Lane 100m from private parking if you prefer. If this is your preference please drive up as far as our neighbours garage to unload your luggage, we are happy to help you with your luggage. A 10-minute walk into delightful Calstock village, with its iconic viaduct over the River Tamar, cafe, two pubs, art galleries plus the acclaimed Calstock Arts Centre hosting live performances.The scenic Tamar Valley railway. National trust Cotehele House and Gardens nearby.

The Artist's Retreat is on a quiet private road 10 minutes walk from Calstock village. We are set in a very quiet part of the village. There are some lovely countryside walks straight from your door. Calstock village with its iconic viaduct makes for a lovely backdrop as your wander around the narrow little streets visiting art galleries, cafe, pubs and ice cream parlour. Lovely walks include a pretty level walk through the village to the old lime kilns, then up to the disused Okel Tor mine if you like. Then back down to the river following the bend past our newly created wetlands and bridge with lovely photogenic views of the viaduct. Or a walk down Lower Kelly beside the river, under the viaduct. If you continue down to where the tarmac road becomes a gravel track you will find the little Danescombe pottery shop. From there you could continue left up to Cotehele or straight up to follow the stream through Danescombe woods. Walking distance 40 minutes to Cothele Estate and gardens, 10 minute drive. The beautiful Tamar Valley Railway is an 8 minutes walk over the viaduct to Devon onto Plymouth. Local buses go to Tavistock with it's independent shops and Pannier market. Also bus to Callington. You can drive to the beach in around 40 minutes Looe fishing town 45 minutes.
