The Black Dog Apartment is a two floor, one bedroom, one bathroom property located in a quiet rural setting outside the town of Dalton in Furness in the Cumbrian countryside. In 2023 a forgotten part of the pub which was previously used for accomodation and more recently storage, was renovated. A first floor open plan living space was created with a fitted kitchen and lounge/dining area, on the second floor a bedroom and ensuite, with rustic oak furniture throughout. A generous double bed offers our guests the opportunity of a great nights sleep and the newly fitted ensuite complete with rain water shower is the perfect way to unwind after an adventurous day of exploring - fluffy towels and toiletries provided! The apartment is perfect for couples wanting a few more home comforts and a bit more space. For those with new additions to the family there is room for a cot in the bedroom with the added benefit of being able to relax downstairs while the smallest member of your team sleeps safe and sound in the room above. To save on boot space we can provide you with a cot, high chair, baby bath and video monitor, if required. Off road parking is available outside and wifi is available throughout.

Perfectly located to explore Lake District landmarks and rolling fells with Lake Windermere only a 20 minute drive away and Coniston Lake a 25 minute drive through scenic countryside and historic lakeland villages. Whether wandering the fells or visiting the ruins of Furness Abbey, strolling the National Trusts Sandscale Haws nature reserve, Seal spotting at Walney Island or feeding the animals at South Lakes Safari Zoo, it’s the ideal base for exploring the attractions and scenery of the Lake District National Park. The apartment is adjacent to “The Black Dog Inn” a traditional pub serving a great selection of award winning real ales from local breweries, an excellent choice of gins and gourmet burgers on Friday nights. The market town of Ulverston, home of Stan Laurel, is 4 miles away, and Dalton in Furness only 1.5 miles, both offer a great selection of boutique shops where a diverse option of culinary experiences are available.
