Unfortunately buses are few and far between, however there are some local taxi firms. Walking is great and it is 1 mile to the village, 2.5 miles to the village of Mitchell and 5 miles to the village of St Newlyn East. Both Mitchell and St Newlyn East have excellent refreshment establishments! Built around 1615 it is a very old property surrounded by open countryside which is used for mainly dairy farming. Rosewyn has two sets of solar panels and a borehole which draws fresh Cornish water from 65 metres below the surface. Several years ago a decision was taken to protect the main 4 acre field from further soil erosion and it was decided to rewild the field. An orchard was planted which now produces Cornish variety apples which we use to make apple juice and cider. After the orchard was planted over 100 small endangered hardwood saplings were planted and these are now beginning to establish themselves whilst providing strength to the soil. At the bottom of the field there is a stream which is a county wildlife site. We are fortunate to have a wide range of small birds as well as larger Buzzards, and occasionally Kestels and Barn Owls.
