Built in 1823 The Gables Bed & Breakfast was formally a Methodist Chapel for approximately 90 years. It has undergone quite a few renovations over the years and we are currently in process of expanding to include another suite and a family room with the same stunning views as our Derwent Suite which is the reason our guest's return.

John & I love running our bed & breakfast and we are putting a lot of effort into upgrading and improving the property all the while. We have 2 lovely daughters who are soon to become mums and we enjoy our time with them, going for walks in this lovely part of England and welcoming family and friends to stay with us.

We are located on a steep hill with breath taking views overlooking the Heights of Abraham cable cars, Gulliver's Kingdom, children's theme park, Matlock with a wonderful children's park offering plenty to do for all ages including a boating lake, paddling pool, skate park, tennis court and café. Cromford canal and Mill is a 5 minute drive away and Carsington water with water activities is a 10 minute drive. The famous market town of Bakewell in the Peak National park, Haddon Hall & Chatsworth are only a 15 minute drive offering lots to do, together with the Monsal Trail for both walkers and cyclists. Our nearest pub is a 10 minute down from us called the White Lion offering local home cooked food and a specials board.
