Our pretty timber cabin is in a private situation surrounded by fields yet only 3/4 mile from the heritage market town of Modbury. From your own terrace, take in the fabulous view of the South Hams countryside and Dartmoor. Barbecue while enjoying the most spectacular sunsets and later wrap up in one of the warm throws provided, sip from a glass of wine and simply stargaze to the sound of owls hooting. There are 2 cosy double bedrooms ( 1 en suite) with crisp cotton bed linen and fluffy white towels. A 5' bed can split to create 2 2'6" singles. Separate bathroom. The light and airy living room is comfortable and includes a TV/DVD player, digital radio, board games, books and DVDs. Dining area seats 4. Well equipped kitchen with double oven, hob, fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer. There is an electric kettle, toaster, microwave and Nespresso coffee machine. Enough milk, Muesli, tea and coffee to get you started and olive oil and herbs in the cupboard! Decked Terrace with table and chairs and electric barbecue grill. Centrally heated and free wifi. On private farm property so plenty of parking available. The Nest is the perfect retreat with outstanding views

We live in the farmhouse so are available most of the time if required. We have lived here for 20 years and in the area for more than 40 so we can advise you of the best places to visit or to eat out. The Nest is betwixt the fabulous South Devon Coast and wonderful Dartmoor so perfect for a coast and country holiday. The pretty town of Modbury has a good selection of shops, galleries, cafes and pubs. The beautiful beaches on the Erme estuary (a popular film location), Bigbury and Bantham are 20 minutes away. A day in beautiful Dartmouth, wandering the little streets filled with an eclectic mix of shops, cafes, restaurants is a must. Take a boat trip up the lovely River Dart to Dittisham or as far as Totnes, a historic market town that has a colourful market. The pretty harbour town of Salcombe is a short drive away. On a sunny day, take the passenger ferry across to Mill Bay beach. There are many wonderful coastal walks, some circular routes with a lunch stop at a pub! Enjoy the spectacular wilderness of Dartmoor but drive carefully as the native ponies, sheep and cattle roam freely. There are some amazing walks for all abilities from a short stroll to a full day’s hike and lovely moorland villages to visit. We are only 10 minutes from A38 making a day trip to Exeter of lunch at Rick Stein's in Padstow in Cornwall a real possibility.
