Tucked in my lovely orchard is this cosy, beautifully appointed little shepherds hut which is very well insulated. With a very comfy organic mattress, organic sheets. And a wood burner.
I have another Airbnb listing on the same property, in case you need to accommodate more people on your trip. It is The Cotswolds Organic Cowshed and is a one bedroom but can sleep 4 with a sofa bed.
The space
The Shepherds Hut is 14' long x 8' wide. It is a single space. Inside there is a double bed and a (yet to be built) fold out table under the bigger window and a couple of stools to sit and eat.
There is a Sage BOV820BSS Smart Oven Pro and a single induction hob plus an electric kettle. There is a pot and frying pan, cutlery and kitchen utensils. Cupps plates bowls etc also.
There is no fridge in the hut but there is a good size ice box and ice will be available. Plus there is a small fridge in the nearby stables.
There is a compost toilet a short walk from the hut with automatic lights on the outside and inside. The compost toilet has a small sink to wash your hands.
Behind the compost toilet is a propane gas heated hot water outdoor shower
I am father of two boys. I absolutely love where we live and feel incredibly lucky to be here. We moved to the Cotswolds in 2017 after living in the USA for 21 years. Stroud and the surrounding valleys, villages and small towns are lovely. Not only is it stunningly beautiful around these parts but there's a fantastic community spirit here - and lots of musical and visual artists here.
The Woolpack, really great local pub with excellent food. Black Horse, nearest pub, has good food. Foston's Ash, another pub with good food. Painswick Hotel, fab for cream teas and beautiful decor. Stroud Farmers Market (Saturdays until around 1:00pm) - fantastic - lots of food stalls/craft! Cococaravan, Stroud an excellent vegan cacao cafe open Thursdays - Saturday, sells superb chocolates....hot chocolate drinks to die for. Juliets Restaurant, Stroud...supposedly best restaurant in the country according to the Times
Sudeley Castle, Berkeley Castle, Cotswolds Farm Park (great for kids), Coopers Hill, home of the famous cheese rolling event (20 minutes walk from us), Gloucester Cathedral - stunning.
Cheltenham, 8 miles away, nice town famous for it's horse racing. Nice shops, lots of good restaurants. Bath (54 miles)...beautiful city. Bristol (42 miles) more edgy vibe lots of music going on there.
Nice nearby towns/villages to visit: Minchinhampton, Sheepscombe, Cranham, Nailsworth, Edge.
For what's going for local music, art, poetry etc events, look for Good On Paper, Stroud. It can be found in various shops/cafes in Stroud for free but is also online....great resource.
