The village is also just off the famous North Coast 500 (NC500) so its the perfect base to explore the route. As well as being attractive and welcoming the village the surrounding area is rich in history. Its a fantastic place to spend a week or two. Being close to the Highland interior roads means that from Tain you can you easily explore the north east coast and the west and north coast too. You can drive to Dornoch in 10minutes and Dunrobin castle in Golspie in just 20 minutes. Ullapool is around 1 1/2 hours away via some of the most spectacular roads in Scotland.
