Comfort is really important to me, and I’ve tried to make the barn feel like a true home-away-from-home where you can unwind and feel looked after. I don’t live in the barn itself, but I’m just around the corner on the same country lane, so I’m close by if you need anything. I’m a creative thinker who’s always full of ideas, and I love hearing feedback on what guests enjoy—or what we might add next, both to the barn and to future projects. (I'm looking at an outside bath—what do you think?) The Saddlery is a family affair. My sister is the horsey one (you’ll spot her in a photo on the barn wall), and my dad can often be seen heading to the stables for the morning and evening horse shifts. I’m historically allergic to animals—though I love them—and I’ve found ways to manage it. I don’t usually get involved with the horses, but I do get called in now and then to ‘muck’ in—pardon the pun! At home, I have two sausage dogs: Coco, who’s nearly 17 and still rules the house, and Frank, our lively 9-year-old boy. And not forgetting my teenage son—who brings a whole other layer of fun, curiosity, and energy to the mix! Hosting is about more than just providing a place to stay—it’s about creating a calm, welcoming space where you can truly relax.
