2021 was our very first year for bell tent camping. This year we will be managing 18 bell tents, a slight increase on 2021. New this year we will be offering 4 unique exclusive family tents for family seclusion. The Bell tent and junior tent are set close to each other, but gives you plenty of privacy and provides the children the freedom to play within a safe setting. 8 superb luxe bell tents are fully equipped with double bed and two singles and an amazing viewing deck. Also, Royal Citadel, Fort Bovisand and Sandway Fort are situated in the bottom left-hand corner of the site. These gorgeous bell tents are exclusively for couples. Where relaxation begins, absorb the glorious scenic surroundings, perfect for a couple’s a romantic getaway. Fabulous views across the bay to Mewstone rock, the Breakwater and beyond. The outdoor space is also equipped with a fire pit with griddle and pot and a picnic bench. We are also pleased to announce as part of The Sea Forts restoration programme we can now offer you this newly renovated, quaint, fabulous, little historic studio - built in 1881 – 2. The studio is equipped with a double bed, kitchen facilities and heating. Enjoyment is a must.

Property information

The Sea Forts offer Historic Napoleonic surroundings. Stunning views of the sea and surrounding country side. Luxurious bell tents with proper beds, comfortable mattresses and cotton bed linen. Out door furniture provided, as well as a fire pit, supply of wood readily available. Luxury shower rooms a couple of minutes walk from the tent up through the field. Very Clean large shower unit, a supply of toiletries and lots of hot water. Plenty of space between tents, on a sustainable site, peace and tranquility. Good vibe! Friendly, creative and warm. A lovely stroll down to Kingsand via a lane or a footpath (just 20 mins down but longer up… very steep). Kingsand/Cawsand merge in to one.. with great pubs, food, beaches and a base for fabulous coastal walks. A paradise totally unspoiled by mass tourism. A small cafe on site suppling Barista coffees and a scrumptious supply of tasty treats. Further up on the camp “the canteen” for great food. Stunning evening sun sets.

Neighbourhood information

Discover the historic heritage site at Maker Heights, the most complete set of Napoleonic Barracks in the British Isles. The war for American Independence prompted the first evolution of building in 1775 on the Maker site. The Amherst Battery in Kingsand to repel enemy landings was built before construction on a number of fortifications at Maker Heights in the 1780’s. Shortly after the Garrison moved in prompting the building of the Garrisons of Maker, Grenville, Hawk-ins and Raleigh Batteries into the late 19th century. Within a short stroll away you will find the fabulous village of Kingsand/Cawsand, with five great pubs and restaurants all serving amazing food. Plenty of coastal walks to be had. Whitsand bay is a five minute drive away and has the most stunning stretch of sandy beaches, but be prepared its quite a trek down the cliff to the beach, but well worth it, also you can stop at the Cliff Top cafe for a lovely lunch break. The historic Mount Edgecumbe is also a five minute drive away, fabulous house and gardens to explore, food within the grounds at the Farriers or the orangery.
