Helston is located at the western entrance to the Lizard Peninsula, a sizable downland region bounded by a breathtaking coastline. Helston is a charming, bustling market town known for the Flora Day Festival and the unique Helston Folk Museum, which tells several tales and traditions surrounding the "Furry Dance." The Poldark Mine, one of the best underground experiences in the south west, is close by and provides information about the region's long mining history. On the Helford River, in a serene environment, is the National Seal Sanctuary, where watching seals frolic and eat provides hours of amusement. If you enjoy adrenaline-pumping thrills, Flambards theme park will keep you occupied all day long and also offers fantastic living history experiences.
