The Sun Inn is a traditional Inn with a modern feel. The rooms have been tastefully renovated with care and as we are a small property evert effort has been made to give a quality finish and feel. The Sun also offers food and drinks that have been sourced from the surrounding area ensuring high quality and traceability. The Inn is in the heart of the village and has a real community feel and has a sister Pub called the Kings Arms which is just 5 miles away. Guests will be given the opportunity to sample both establishments and with a host of local attractions The Sun provides an ideal getaway for everyone. The location is ideal for exploring the Lake district national park as we are situated just on the edge of it and being sited on the coast to coast route its an ideal stop off whether it be the first or last leg of your journey. The Sun is an ideal place to come, relax, and enjoy yourself whether it be in your room or in the bar with the locals we hope you enjoy it as much as we do! The Location of the Sun is great for exploring the lake district national park. We have the town of Penrith just 3 miles away with its local shops and Golf course and with Keswick and Carlisle just 15-20 miles away there is plenty to do and see. If you like cycling we are on the C2C and the area is perfect for cycling with the quieter country roads offering a challenge to even the strongest of cyclists. Walking, in particular fell walking is a popular past time in the area, you can test yourself against some of the biggest mountains in the country or simply stroll the lower hills, whichever you fancy the choice is there for you.
