Throphill Grange is set in 5 acres; the house is long with two distinct wings with their own entrances. Throphill guests have their own entrance and garden terrace in the east wing so are free to come and go as they wish without disturbing anyone. There are two bedrooms available, both en-suite. Percy on the ground floor has King size double bed, a radio, Bluetooth speaker and Smart TV. There is an armchair and a further chair. The room has fluffy robes and towels, tea and coffee making facilities and glasses and bottle openers. There is a communal fridge in the entrance hall for the use of both rooms. Upstairs Scott is a double bedroom with super king size bed and a private wet room. It has the same facilities as Percy but has a sofa rather than an armchair. Adjacent to Scott is Douglas which is available for use by the couple booking Scott for additional guests, sharing the bathroom Otherwise it remains empty. Douglas has a King size double bed and the same facilities as the other two rooms. Breakfast is served in the Weil Library and we offer a full Northumbrian breakfast. Guests order their breakfast daily for the next day.

I was born in Zambia where my father was working as a mining engineer; I was educated in Johannesburg, moving back to England in my twenties. My three daughters are in their first jobs.

Throphill Grange is 9 miles from the coast and ideally placed to visit local National Trust properties, Cragside and Wallington Hall; Belsay Hall is close - Alnwick Castle is 30 minutes north. The Dyke Neuk pub and restaurant is half a mile away.
