As soon as you walk through the front door, you step into the cosy living room, with its exposed stone and oak beams, and instantly get a warm feeling. The comfy sofa offers the perfect place to cuddle up after a busy day’s fun in the Lakes. Moving through there is a well-appointed kitchen/dining area with all the appliances and space you need to prepare anything from a picnic to a romantic dinner for two. Upstairs you’ll find a comfortable kingsize bed to ensure a sound night’s sleep, which also boasts an en-suite shower room. Broughton-in-Furness is a lovely quiet village which offers a great base from which to explore the sights and attractions of the Southern Lakes area. There are local shops including a butcher and bakery for fresh produce, and a couple of nice pubs. Many of the Lake District’s attractions are within easy reach from Broughton, such as Coniston Water, which is a mere 15 minutes’ drive, or maybe the coastal nature reserve of Duddon Mosses which is only 5 minutes. There is truly something for everyone; whether you love the outdoors and walking, cycling or climbing are your passions, or maybe you prefer Michelin star restaurants and spa days, it’s all available and within a short drive away.
