Everything! It was a home from home, so cosy and had everything you needed and more! The little touches throughout was super kind as we arrived to two little presents under the tree for our Christmas stay. Booked again for my birthday once I had...

Stone Built Terraced Cottage situated in the Centre of Marple, it's location is perfect and even though its a stones throw away from the Village Centre it is so quiet! The Decor is painted in Neutral Colours of Egyptian Cotton, Sage and Greys. it has a rustic feel with exposed wooden beams and exposed stone walls in the living room and Kitchen. The Living room has a leather sofa and arm chair, Smart TV, inc. WiFi and a lovely living flame Gas Stove Fire which makes the whole house feel so cosy and warm, Fully Central Heated throughout. The Kitchen is fitted with Country style Kitchen with off white cupboards and Granite worktops and loads of drawer and cupboard space with a black Leisure Range Gas Cooker and electric oven. a large round kitchen Dining table with chairs, Microwave, toaster, kettle, pans, dinner plates and dishes, cutlery and various cooking utensils .There is a stable door looking onto a patio area which has an outdoor rattan Dining table and chairs for dining al Fresco, the garden is south facing so you get sun all day, from the patio leads up into a very large grassed lawn with flower borders, and mature trees including fruit trees Cherry, Pear and a Fig, from the kitchen is a staircase to the first floor comprising of a double bedded bedroom, large wardrobe and drawers, wall TV (not Smart) and views towards Manchester. on the same floor is a small bathroom with bath and shower over the bath and shaver point, on the same level is a single bedded room with wardrobe, views over the garden, floor 2 the attic room has a double bed with drawer storage and two skylights which looks over the garden. We supply all bedding, towels and complimentary shower gel, shampoo and soap (miniatures), a welcome starter pack of Milk, tea, coffee and snacks for when you arrive. We can also supply a travel cot and High Chair on request. Just a a 2 minute walk to shops, bars, restaurants, pubs, cafe's, park and Canals. On Street Parking, also paid Car Park to the front.
My name is Stephanie, and I have lived in Marple all my life 'Village cottage' was my very first home and I have loved and treasured this happy home for over 30 years! Everyone that visits the cottage love it, It feels nice, I always say 'its not a place its a feeling' a lovely feeling. my favourite place is the garden and have spent many hours gardening or just relaxing, having the odd BBQ or Party in there. It is so peaceful and the sun shines down all day long in the summer. My favourite tree is my fig tree which was brought from Southern Italy as a sapling 30 years ago and has grown enormously, every September/October, I enjoy harvesting the Figs, made the odd Fig jam and still continue to cultivate other Fig trees from this Mother Tree. Its a brilliant location I can just nip out to any of the shops as everything is so close. I am new to hosting and this is the first time I have done this since December, 2025. I know you will enjoy staying here and hopefully you will book again. I will enjoy and I am excited to share my beautiful home with you 'a Home from Home'. Any queries or further information I will be here to help the best I can, to ensure your stay as comfortable as possible. Steph x
Marple and the local area is full of everything. firstly at the end of the Street is a Theatre 'The Carver Theatre' which produces fantastic plays and pantomimes performed by amateur dramatics. We have a fantastic old fashioned Picture House, 'The Regent Cinema' at the other end of the Street which shows all the latest releases, Pubs and bars that serve food, some that have live music, Cafe's lots that are Dog Friendly. The local Memorial Park includes a skateboard park, and soon to open will be a Leisure centre including a swimming pool. Chinese, Indian, Italian, Cambodian Restaurants and take aways including a Sushi takeaway. For lovely picturesque Walks we have the Peak forrest Canal and an impressive run of canal locks, the flight of 16 locks is a spectacular sight - one of the steepest in Britain with the countryside around Marple Aqueduct a 20 minute walk up the towpath to the top of the flight. Lakes like Compstall and The Roman Lakes, we have great public transport and easy access to Manchester City and Airport and the Peak District. Buxton, Castleton, Bakewell takes around 35 minutes by Car, Manchester Airport is 25 mins drive. By Train to Manchester City Centre takes around 25 minutes, Marple has two Train Stations Marple Train Station and Rose Hill Train Station. Many People arrive at Marple Station Where Agatha Christie was believed to be inspired to Create 'Miss Marple' there is a Blue Plaque there. Lyme Park and House (National Trust) in Disley is a 10 minute drive. Where the Exteriors of Pemberley for the 1995 BBC Pride and Prejudice were filmed. Stockport Town Centre is a 15 minute bus ride, with an array of larger retail shops, and good night life. Foodie Friday is the last Friday of Every Month and is a must for street food and music.
