Waterside Cottage enjoys a spectacular location with private access to the shore and is in walking distance of the shops and restaurants of Broadford, Skye's second largest village. Step out and explore the island, watch the wonderful birdlife or head off to discover the magic of Skye and Lochalsh. The house is in a great location for it all. What makes the house extra-special is the garden at the edge of the water. Sitting at the garden bench you will look out to the magnificent panorama of Beinn na Caillach and the Red Cuillins to the west, the islands of Pabay and Raasay in front, and the hills of Kintail to the east. You can launch a canoe at high tide, go for a quick dip if you're feeling brave, or in winter, you might be lucky enough to see the magnificent spectre of the Aurora Borealis or Northern Lights. Broadford Bay is also one of the best locations for bird-watching in Skye and you can while away hours on end looking out for sandpipers, curlews, oystercatchers, turnstones, ringed plover, herons, ducks, geese and many more varieties as well as migratory flocks just passing through. You might also spot seals, otters and deer. Internally, the 200-year old cottage has been fully renovated to meet the needs of modern living while retaining its character. It has been lovingly decorated to be a cosy haven, with all the comfort you would expect, and an extra bit of luxury thrown in. There is a large kitchen-diner with fabulous views over the bay and a spacious lounge with views to the sea. When you’re not out exploring, choose from books, toys, DVDs , games and internet-enabled TV and or just gaze at the view. For planning your adventures there is Starlink Wi-Fi. The cottage provides spacious accommodation for 6 people. Upstairs, there are three characterful bedrooms - a king, a twin and a double. There is a bathroom with bath and WC and a shower room with WC.

We fell in love with Waterside Cottage and its location when we first came to the Isle of Skye some 15 years ago. We always wanted Waterside to feel comfortable and special and in 2024 we stripped the whole cottage back to bare walls and refurbished it from top to bottom, adding new windows and opening up walls to help more enjoyment of the amazing views. Now this characterful cottage is light and bright and spacious. As for us, in our spare time we enjoy cycling, hillwalking, good food, whisky and real ale and of course travelling and we are always happy to give advice on where to explore in Skye and Lochalsh.

Waterside Cottage is situated on beautiful Broadford Bay. The garden leads straight to the shore, which teems with birdlife and has views to the islands of Pabay, Scalpay, the majestic Beinn na Caillach on one side and views of the hills of Applecross on the other. This is a beautiful location and enjoys the benefits of being in easy walking distance of the shops, cafes and restaurants of Broadford village. It also makes a great base to explore the whole of Skye and Lochalsh.
