"Everything. I haven't one negative to say. 2 minutes drive to town.or taxi only £6 if you want to sample some alcohol..try the granite trail which is a two minute walk away or Bloody Bridge walk 10 minutes drive up the road .WiFi,TV and heating..."

"Wonderful welcome, lovely interior - clean, cosy and comfortable with lovely sea views. Excellent WiFi and walking distance to restaurants, two cafes and a two pubs. Access to forest walks from rear and short drive (few mins) to town centre."

Number 165 Widows Row is a Northern Ireland Tourist Board approved, grade 2 listed property in a row of 12 delightful cottages. These were built following the fishing disaster of 1843, the worst that ever occurred around the shores of County Down . It was a clear wintry morning on Friday 13th January 1843 when the local fishing fleet, 10 Shiffs (boats) set out from Newcastle and 6 from Annalong. The weather, being unusually fine for the time of year, the fisherman decided to go a little farther beyond their normal fishing ground, some 7 or 8 miles out in the channel and according to reports the they had “quite an uncommon take of fish”. Weather conditions changed suddenly and dramatically and the fleet was engulfed in gales and driving snow. 46 fishermen from Newcastle perished in the disaster, leaving behind 27 widows , 118 children and 21 dependants. A Public Subscription was raised and the cottages, known as Widows Row, were built for the widows and dependants. ​ The row has since then remained one of the iconic images of Newcastle. I grew up in the cottage and it has been in the family for many generations, so it holds a very special place in my heart. I love to welcome guests so they can experience it's charm. Nothing is to much trouble for me and I pride myself on going to great lengths to ensure my guests have a memorable stay. I have many repeat guests which proves I'm doing something right!

I just ask they are not on the leather furniture. Also that they do not go upstairs or that they are on the beds. I will put a stairgate in place to help with this. If your dog sleeps in the bedroom with you then I'm sorry but this isn't the rental for you. I have to consider other guest who do not have dogs.
