Ayoba is not a formal word. It’s a made-up one that originates from the townships of South Africa where it’s used to express appreciation of good dancing! It is slang for “cool, alright, ok” (or any other expression of approval!). In Zulu, it means “will be”. Ayoba is a feel-good word. It takes us to our happy place. A place that’s more than alright actually, better then cool: our ravishing slice of Santorini. We have toiled passionately for years for what “will be” and the result is our Ayoba. Come share it with us and create your own special meaning of the word. After all everyone’s entitled to their Ayoba time! (Now why Ayoba in Santorini? Well quite simply, because we’re from South Africa with Greek roots that landed luckily in Santorini…. And we think that’s pretty Ayoba!)

Ayoba is a family affair – and the fruition of a very long-held dream. As we approach our first year of operation, we are super excited! We have renovated our rustic property with lashings of love and re-awakened it to a new life and purpose. Our philosophy is based on pure “philoxenia”; hands-on hospitality that will make your stay utterly authentic, without commercial intrusions. We have created traditional accommodation that is family-friendly, with all the necessary comforts of home.
