It all started in the 1980s, when the estate initially served as a summer vacation residence for the Kalomirakis family, a family with strong roots in the area. But year after year, more and more visitors to Elafonisi asked for accommodation in the residence, in order to extend their stay, fascinated by the magical Elafonisi beach. This was amplified by the long and winding road to Chania city, and the absence of adequate bus routes to the area. One thing led to the other, and many of the rooms of the vacation residence started functioning as guestrooms, in order to care for an ever-growing number of visitors. Since then, and for about the last 35 years, the Kalomirakis family has been inseparably linked to the very friendly, traditional hospitality in the area of the famous Elafonisi beach. All the rooms buildings are complete renovated .

Elafonisi Resort is a 3*** traditional hotel located a stone’s throw from the world-famous beach of Elafonisi, Crete. It is ideally positioned on an advantageous elevated location overlooking the sea, and amidst a superb natural environment made up of a large olive grove and beautiful gardens. Many visitors describe Elafonisi Resort simply as “a paradise on earth”, year after year. In our Hotel you can enjoy the quietness of the sunrise in the morning a walk or a swim in the laguna a marvelous sunset without the noise of the touristic traffic during the middle of the day and a romantic evening with the full star sky.

Elafonisi Resort is located at the point where the paved road towards the protected beach of Elafonisi ends (after that, there is a dirt road to the beach). The hotel is in a distance of only 650 meters, or about a 7-minute walk away, from Elafonisi beach and one kilometer from Kedrodasos beach. The area is under the protection EU Natura 2000 program. There is in total 4 km line of beaches in front (Laguna,Island,Kedrodasos,E4 path direction Krios). In the short area . There is no a village or a city. There are some Restaurants ,mini Markets and not a few part of hotels houses rooms to stay. Other places in a short distance of 5 km are: Monastery of Chrisoskalitissa ,White lake ,Voulolimni. In 55 minutes driving you can visit the small cities Paleachora or Kasteli/Kissamos and the beaches Falassarna or Ballos (20 min additional).
