Hello My name is Carol and I have been in travel , tourism and hospitality for 40 Years My own passion and hobby is travel so I really understand just how important a holiday is ! I am married to a Greek and have lived in Athens and Zakynthos for many years so I really have the inside track for any knowledge or experience you are looking for , including just relaxation. GV is in the resort of Kalamaki, we are down a small track which leads into our gardens and accommodation which nestles into the garden The resort is most famous for its association with the turtles which lay their eggs and at certain times of the year you can see the nests but this does not stop you enjoying the beach which is one of the most spectacular on the island beautifully shelving which is only a ten minute stroll away The resort has lots of diverse restaurants and bars within walking distance Further afield there are many other alternatives including Zakinthos town which is a must do destination to take in the real essence of the island We over look Mt Skopos an imposing mountain covered in flowers at the beginning of the season and overs a treasure trove of mountain walks and ruins, along with some astonishing nature There is ample opportunity to take various excursions to really get amazing views and perspective of the island from the ocean. The Ionians above all the Greek islands have the most amazing scenery , not forgetting the world famous view of the shipwreck the subject of many Instagram posts I pride myself on my in depth knowledge of the island
