Kalyva is located right in the heart of the most beautiful and picturesque village of Santorini, Oia. The house was refurbished in February 2021 in a period of 6months, with respect to building’ s history & preserving Cycladic architectural heritage. Kalyva takes its name from the original use of building way back in the history. Santorini was an agricultural community, depending on farming and wine production. Along with that, animals had a key role in this day to day routine. Construction of a house was a multi-year process. Collecting materials such as black overweight volcanic rocks could take a year. When it comes to design – oversized windows, large and cool spaces, wide walls, auxiliary rooms and perfect northern direction – was the formulation for an ideal house. Constructed in the late 18th century an architectural combination of an agricultural house and a cave house defined from its 3 feet plus wide walls, barrel shaped bedrooms deep dugged into the volcanic rocks & oversized shaped windows Kalyva stands out as one of the most iconic houses in the Village.

Hey, this is Konstantino & Faye. We are based in Santorini almost 7 years and we will be more than happy to host you in our private house.
