Looking to relax? Socratous House is ideal, (see guests comments) and yet our island is the nearest to the mainland. Athens can (traffic permitting) be reached within the hour. Pireaus within 45 minutes on a week day if using the small passenger ferry. Salamina also does not get swamped by tourism, even during the autumn and early winter months. Socratous House offers privacy to its guests; is located very close to the village center of Aianteio where there are several business outlets. Offering an island location with easy access to both the capital of Greece, Pireaus Port, and the Peloponnese. Its 5G WIFI makes it also an ideal writers retreat, a business trip escape from the city life or for someone who wants to work from home. The roof terrace offers a panoramic sea view, a private sunny courtyard, and a veranda to the front with a sea view for morning coffee or just to relax and enjoy. Less than a 10 minute walk to the seafront. NOT suitable for infants and children under 12, NOT ideal for guests with mobility difficulties due to the access via several steps from the street.

Socratous House is located on the next street above the village center making it minutes away from : ATM, bakery, pharmacies, electric car charging point, kiosks, petrol station, a very good mini-market, takeaways, coffee shops, restaurants, and only 10 minutes walk to the sea. There is a large Saturday fruit and veg+ market (not on public holidays) and there are two large supermarkets 5 minutes drive or 20 minutes on foot. There is also a regular bus service to and from Salamina. Athens, Pireaus and the Peloponnese are easily accessible by ferry or boat.
