Stonewalls inside and outside set a specific scene in this refuge type house on mount Olympus. The house has magic views from its windows and terrace to the peaks of Olympus, to the cities below and to the seaside. It is situated on the northeast slopes of Olympus on the way to one of the most remote and challenging points for hikers and climbers: the northern side of Olympus. It enjoys a lot of light and magic views from its terrace. The house is approx. 45 min away from the beaches on the feet of Olympus. Stonehouse is ideal for couples, small groups and families, that enjoy to stay close to nature and would love to experience hiking, mountain biking or climbing on the northeast part of Olympus. Some consider it as base for such activities. Some others would see the place where they collect the energy to put down their thoughts and write a novel... For some others its a place to relax and benefit from the energy of the area. Unpaved roads will bring you -depending on the season- almost below the highest peaks of Olympus. Paved roads will lead you to the seaside, to the rejuvenating waterfalls of Ourlias and to the closest supermarket and petrol station (7km away).

Stonehouse Olymp is located outside the mass tourism sites in a tiny village with few locals and no other guesthouses! Most of the local’s act like if they are the kings/queens of themselves. A kind of Asterix village! What makes them act like that? This seems to belong to the mysteries of the place. Would you love to discover more? The house serves as a base for discoveries.... If you are lucky you may have the rare opportunity to visit one of the most mysterious places on Olymp. The monastery of Petra on Olymp is 2km before arriving in the village! Once a byzantine monastery that was converted into a caserne bevor it started to operate like a hospital for asthma as the local climate helps its healing... From 1969 to 2003 it served as one of the largest psychiatric clinics in the county. It served almost 1000 people... in 2003 it was totally abandoned, and it is still.... In 2016 it was converted for 8 months into a refugee camp for more than 600 refuges coming from Iraq and Afghanistan… A small taverna with a birdeye view on the highest part of the settlement serves local food and drinks. The road after the taverna will bring you in some of the most untouched areas of Greece!
