Hans Rutten (1952) was a television producer and director.
Our goal now
Our life unfolded in a way that invited to reflect on the motives and the meaning of things around us. We decided in 2008 to share this with others. That ment we had to to stop the things we were doing in the Netherlands. In 2012 we started in our Hotel Bed and Breakfast Villa Dio Petres. And we started an Academy in Crete for philosophy courses (in Dutch).

Head out after a well-organized breakfast. To the Lasithi plateau with the intriguing birth cave of Zeus. Or visit the beautifully situated excavation of the Doric city of Lato. Relax in the beautiful mountain village of Kritsa. And the lively town of Agios Nikolaos and the lovely sandy beach of Ammoudara, with a good fish tavern, are a 15-minute drive away.
For hikers there is Kritsa's favorite gorge and we have a series of beautiful and unknown hiking trails available for you (digital), varying in duration from 1 to 3 hours.
Then enjoy the breathtaking view of mountains, olive groves and the Bay of Mirambello from your spacious terrace. Your comfortable room is whisper-quiet and sustainably cooled or heated.
Choose a delicious Cretan meal in one of the three excellent taverns and restaurants of our authentic mountain village Kroustas. Within 300 meters walking distance!
