The picturesque quite village of Roumeli has 2 supermarkets, café, café neon/grill house & 1 taverna serving traditional Greek cuisine which are all located within 200 metres (1.5km) walking distance from the villas. The small traditional fishing village of Panormo with its narrow cobbled streets is a 5 minute drive away, where there are excellent sandy beaches, cafes & restaurants serving a range of Greek & Cretan cuisine. There is also ATM’s, pharmacy, supermarkets, souvenir shops, butcher and a bakery. Boat trips for diving & snorkelling excursions can be organised from the small harbour. A 10 minute drive will take you to the community of Perama which has everything from banks/ATM, pharmacies, butchers, supermarkets, shops, grill house, café/bars, post office, bakeries, gas station & an emergency hospital clinic. The nearest main market town is the resort of Rethymnon, which can be reached within 20 minutes (14kms) by car where the local produce market is on once weekly on a Thursday. In the town, there are banks, markets, bars, restaurants and the General Hospital. Rethymnon offers the opportunity to explore the rich cultural heritage heritage and natural beauties of Crete.
