NEW - the property has been fenced (safe for dogs) and a new air conditioner has been installed - helps with heating as well! We have added a new water heater - boyler, which has 80l capacity and a quick shower function to make sure you have plenty of hot water available! The apartment is just 300 meters from the beach, on the hillside, among holiday homes, on a small and quiet street. It faces the valley and hillside, opening to a nice view, surrounded by nicely groomed gardens. It has just been renovated (July 2022) and refurbished, supplemented with new furniture, amenities, and tasteful decoration. There is a nicely appointed living room, with huge windows, large coach (convertible to a 160x200 bed), 2 armchairs and a flat-screen TV. Both (2) bedrooms have double beds (140x200), nightstand, reading light and a closet. Extra bedlinen, blankets, pillows, and several towels are provided. The bathroom is fitted with a walk-in shower, toilet, sink, mirror, hairdryer, toiletries and cosmetics. The kitchen is well equipped with a fridge, induction hot top, microwave, toaster, water heater, Nespresso machine, pots and pans – plates – glasses – cutlery. On the terrace you will find a table, 4 chairs and grandpa’s armchair, completed with 2 sunbeds. This sounds a lot, almost makes you forget that it is 32 sqm in size. The cooling of the apartment is by airconditioning aided by 2 Klarstein standing fans. Heating is done by airconditioner, a wood stove and 2 electric heaters. Entertainment is old school with a flat-screen TV and 60+ DVD’s. As a family rule, we do not have wifi on holiday, but all mobile-net providers have coverage on spot, if you need it.

I fall in love with Orfű and kept returning to this apartment for 10 years. At first, I was just a guest of a dear friend, but finally I had the chance to purchase it from him. Although it was already romantic enough, I decided to fix it up and furnish it according to my needs - I hope these coincide with yours. As we had a long dry summer, the garden needs a bit more time to recover, but I hope, shortly this will flourish also. I'm a great enthusiast of the outdoors, trekking, running, mountain biking, kayaking... all these can be done here - enjoy it!

Orfű lies in a scenic valley, which is surrounded by the hills of the Mecsek mountain. It is a stunning combination lush vegetation - dense forest and a string of 4 beautiful lakes. Each lake has it’s own character. The Orfűi is the smallest among the lakes with a mill at it’s side and a well maintained pay beach. Pécsi lake is the largest and most frequented of the 4, but still avoids the masses. It has 2 nicely appointed public beaches, both with small restaurants and amenities. Lake Herman Ottó is probably the least frequented, a true gem with overhanging willow trees. The 4th in line is Kovácsszénájai - a well liked fishing lake with a romantic bridge and varied vegetation - ranging from a mini wetland forest to extended reeds. Orfű is a perfect balance of nicely appointed lakeside beaches and sufficient challenge for an active holiday. Relax at one of the free beaches, yoga on a SUP, go kayaking, trek in the forest, do some mountain biking, run the lake circle, try caving, or just keep silently staring at your fishing rod.
