Located 700m from Pattens Bar, and the starting point for the near 7km Grainne Mhaol Loop - this walk boasts stunning coastal views in all directions. A further 1km south is Grainne Mhaol Castle, built in the 16th Century. The Achill lifeboat lies at anchor beneath the castle, once the anchorage of Grainne's fleet. Close by is the Greenway, Achill Sound town, easy access to the rest of the island and many other routes for hiking and cycling (the Wild Atlantic Way of course). Eskape beauty salon is close by.
