Waterford Greenway The old railway line from Waterford City to Dungarvan when completed is a 46km of off-road cycling and walking trail which travels through time and nature across eleven bridges, three viaducts and through the atmospheric tunnel all the way from the river to the sea. Along this route in Irelands Ancient East is a Viking settlement, Norman Castles, medieval ruins, a famine workhouse, an old railway stations and a heritage railway train still runs along part of the track at Suir Valley Railway. Enjoy the breath-taking scenery as you approach the Town of Dungarvan along the amazing coastline. Bikes can be hired and this would make a great family day out. Towns & Villages Dungarvan The beautiful coastal town Dungarvan with a population of about 9,000 people has a pretty harbour used by leisure craft of all shapes and sizes and is further enhanced by the majestic Comeragh mountains in its background and is ready to welcome you and showcase the best the landscape has to offer. Dungarvan is a market town, beautifully set on the picturesque Dungarvan Bay in the west of County Waterford and is full of many attractions for all types of visitors. Ardmore Ardmore is the oldest Christian Settlement in Ireland, founded by St. Declan circa 416 AD., before the arrival of St. Patrick. The village is most picturesque, and its neatness has won Ardmore many awards, including the national title in the Tidy Towns Competition.
