We are a family run guest accommodation with 4 guest rooms, Our son is now living in Glasgow so there is just the two of us and our son's cat Seamus living in Camillaun Lodge. Our location is fantastic, close to the village yet completely private and tranquil. All the bedrooms are different and there are a number of guest social spaces- so everyone can enjoy the facilities of the house. We love our house and the beautiful town of Oughterard and of course Lough Corrib and Connemara and we think our guests love it too.
We ere both drawn to this part of the world because it is so beautiful and we could pursue our interests in fishing and hiking. It is also close to Galway, which is a very diverse, cultural city and is small and easy to get around. In our down time we hear off on unusual holidays which includes hiking and some challenges. We are always looking for ideas for the next adventure.
The village of Oughterard, only 5 minutes walk from Camillaun Lodge is called the 'Gateway to Connemara'. This is a beautiful region with mountains lakes and many beaches. It is a great place to visit for cultural, fishing, hiking and seeing nature. The village itself is very lively and has many nice restaurants, cafes and bars.
