We live in a beautiful rural location just 1 hour’s drive from Dublin, Waterford and very close to Counties Carlow, Kildare and Kilkenny. Our location makes us an ideal base for touring Irelands hidden Heartlands and Irelands Ancient East! 35km to Kildare Village Shopping Outlet/National Stud & Japanese Gardens/Kilkenny City/Slieve Bloom Mountains, 30km to Emo Court/The Heritage, Killenard , 20km to Castlecomer Discovery Park/Rock of Dunamase, 10km to Carlow/Athy/Stradbally/Kilkea Castle/Ballintubbert House & Gardens. Laois has also gained a reputation for fast becoming the festival capital of Ireland! Emo's Forest Fest in July is 30 mins away while Ireland biggest music and arts festival, the Electric Picnic, held each August is just 10 mins from our home. Stradbally is also the home of the National Steam Rally held on the August Bank Holiday Weekend. For those who prefer a more agricultural day out, the National Ploughing Championships in September have made Laois their regular home over the last number of years attracting a crowd of over 250,000 each year.
