As well as the river running through it, Foxford is also surrounded by the Ox mountains and the beautiful lakes of lough Cullen ands lough Conn (5 Mins away by car) Foxford still holds its charm as a village were the locals are known to be friendly and welcoming enjoying the chat. If that's not enough for you we also have The historical Foxford Woollen Mills, were you can partake in their tour, enjoy a tasty lunch or buy the finest of gifts on offer from many different local and national crafts available......and Foxford rugs naturally! The Michael Davitt Museum is only a few miles away in Straide village beside Straid Abbey (13th century) you can also pay your respects to the great man Michael Davitt at his grave in the grounds, as one of our heroes and founder of the land league.
