Summerfield Lodge is situated on 1acre of mature garden overlooking the sea, less than 5min walk to a wonderful beach. The property is located on the strand side of the town in a quite residential area. Please be aware we are not in the town centre, we are a 3 minute drive to town centre. The layout of the house is, the three guest bedrooms are located upstairs. The rooms are as featured i.e. one double room (no view, but good size) double with sea view, (small ensuite) , twin room is large bedroom two beds and large bathroom. The house was built in the 1970s so has some features still visible. There is ample parking for guests. Weather permitting we like to see guests sitting outside enjoying the view and always nice to bring the coffee pot out as well. We have the normal coming and going's of a family home. Farrells pub is less than a two minute walk from the house, while they don't serve food they do a pizza and is a great spot to finish off the night.
I am operating the B&B since April 2017 and really do enjoy meeting guests and chatting. I make an effort to ensure that guests get to do and see the best of what is on offer in this area of East Cork. I am passionate about where I live and love the town of Youghal. I enjoy walking each day on the boardwalk. Peter my husband helps out in the kitchen and is great to go through the different routes that guests maybe considering to drive.
The town of Youghal is a very old town with some of the original town walls still intact. A wonderful place to visit and to walk along the top of the wall is a great spot to capture the beauty of the area. The Clock Gate Tower which straddles the main street of the town is our newest attraction and is certainly worth a visit, a walking tour of the town and a visit to the Raleigh Quarter are all part of the experience. Nearby in Midleton which is only 20mins away is Jameson Distillery where daily tours and whiskey tasting is great fun (if you like whiskey!) Cobh is a short distance away also with a number of attractions on offer. Of course here in Youghal there is a great choice of places to eat, be it casual dining in the bar or the full dining experience the choice is yours.
