The Boat House is on the water's edge and every room has a spectacular view of Adrigole Harbour and the Caha Mountains. It is a spectacular place to base yourself to explore West Cork and Kerry or to sit back and be inspired by the environment around you. Popular with hikers, swimmers, adventurers, artists and writers. Breakfast is a simple self-service buffet available in the large breakfast dining area upstairs overlooking the beautiful Adrigole Harbour and Hungry Hill. Breads, cereals, fruit and jams are provided, plus teas and coffee. There is a small fridge, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, toaster and sink available in the kitchenette for our bed and breakfast guests. It is NOT a self-catering unit. Bed and Breakfast guest do not have access to the main kitchen. The Boat House is part of an active sailing school and kayak rental business. It is situated at the top of the slipway at Adrigole Pier, offering you direct access to the sea for swimming and launching boats. In the summer months we are open for kayak and canoe rental through 'West Cork Sailing Centre' and provide live aboard sail training on our 37 foot yacht, Jessy of Adrigole. Visitors and locals enjoy the pier and slipway for swimming and watersports. There is one small grocery shop 1km from The Boat House and a craft shop close by. The nearest restaurants and shops are in Glengarriff or Castletownbere, both a 15minute drive. The Boat House is adjacent to a beautiful small rocky beach. Adrigole Harbour has a mussel farm and is home to two inshore fisherman for crab, lobster and shrimp. You can watch the wildlife in the harbour from the balconies ... grey and common seals, egrits, herons, oyster catchers and more live in the harbour. We also get the occasional pod of dolphins and have resident otters that live a quiet life out at the entrance of the harbour and you will occasionally see them early morning. The Boat House is a special place and guests always leave with plans to return.

I love to hike, swim, sail, paint and explore. Adrigole is the perfect location for me. I previously ran a sailing school, cafe and worked in the music, arts and sailing industry. I love sharing The Boat House with guests and helping them find the many special places they can enjoy while staying.

Adrigole is a small village with no central hub. There is a small pub for a good pint 1km east of The Boat House and a fabulous grocery and deli shop 1km west. Adrigole is home to the Healy Pass, Hungry Hill and the spectacular Adrigole Harbour, home to a colony of seals. There are a number of loop walks away from the main road, coastal walks and the Beara Way hiking route passes through Adrigole along the Caha Mountain ridge. The friendly holiday village of Glengarriff is a 15 minute drive east and has a choice of cafes, restaurants and sweater shops to choose from, along with a pharmacy. There are some wonderful woodland walks in Glengarriff. Please note, there are no restaurants in Adrigole. The village shop is 1km west along the road, open hours are Mon-Fri 8am- 6pm, Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 10am-2pm. You can eat out in Bantry, Glengarriff, Lauragh, Kilmacalogue, Kenmare and Castletownbere. We provide a microwave so you can heat something simple up to dine in the lounge and enjoy the spectacular views. You can keep a small amount of groceries in the small fridge. The kitchenette is not designed for full meal preparation and cooking. Castletownbere is a 15 minute drive west is Ireland's 2nd largest fishing port and has a full range of shops, hardware, cafes, clothing, supermarket, pharmacies, library etc. There is a local bus service that runs through Adrigole 4 times a day (212) and a national pub service (236).
