Set in the grounds of 18th century stable yard of the historic Burtown House, this 4 bedroom house has been renovated, decorated and once lived in by James and Joanna Fennell and their young family. With its own private courtyard garden It is surrounded by 12 acres of lush flowers, woodland and vegetable gardens, a sculpture park and many fields of wild flowers. It sits close to our farm to fork Green Barn restaurant, shop and gallery, and our walled organic kitchen garden. It has been decorated to the highest of standards by James and Joanna and interior photographer and interior designer respectively. Built in 1710, it has never been sold, and so for that reason it holds a particular charm.
Living in Ireland in our historic family home called Burtown House & Gardens. I am a photographer, restauranteur, gardener, food grower & who loves to travel. I am married to a beautiful Irish girl called Joanna, a designer and super cook and mother to our three children Bella, Mimi and William. We are passionate about what we eat and where it has come from (normally our garden) which supplies our restaurant. Our house in Ireland is one one of the few houses in Ireland to be still lived in by the family that built it. You can find more at our website. We all love to travel and so hospitality and also have a cool apartment in Prague called Vinohrady Boutique Apartment - No 46. To be surrounded by beautiful things, eat delicious food and enjoy life to the max.
Close to Dublin, small villages wit great traditional pubs and the mountains of Wicklow it is an area of immense beauty. There are many country houses, gardens and water walks to visit. James being a photographer of interiors has shot many books on traditional pubs, country houses and the Irish people and is on hand to give detailed local knowledge and history.
