Each apartment sleeps four people with two double bedrooms in each apartment. There is also a large sitting room, kitchen and bathroom. The courtyard is situated in the stunning Townely Hall Estate and you are free to roam the woodland and river bank. The courtyard is situated on lands formally owned by Mellifont Abbey and the runis of the Abbey can be seem just up the road. The Battle of the Boyne took place in the vicinity with the Williamite camp on the surrounding lands. Oldbridge House and Estate, which commerates the event, is located a short distance away. Battle re-inactments are a regular feature during the summer. This is also the home of the national garden collection with a good cafe. Bru na Boinne or Newgrange is about ten minutes drive away for an early entry. The other megalatic tombs are also close by. Townley Hall Apartments are popular with Wedding Groups. The ruins on top of Slane Hill are worth a vist. Further along the valley are the historic towns of Kells with its monastic settlement, Trim with its impressive Norman castle and seat of the High Kings of Ireland, Tara. Dublin airport is about 25 minutes away. The city centre is about 40 minutes. The apartments are set in the middle of woodland with some fabulous walks. There is an abundance of wildlife with most native birds and mamals. Watch out for the deer when you are coming in! The apartments are located about a mile from the local village where you will find the supermarket, a superb restaurant and a traditional Irish thatched pub as well as takeaways, chemist and doctor. There are also a number of good restuarants in Slane Village and the town of Drogheda. Townly Hall Apartments are a good base for the local hotels.
