Our vacation home is in Dhela, a small hamlet adjoining the Jim Corbett National Park in Uttarakhand. The nearest town is Ramnagar, approx. 13 kms away. Away from the hustle-bustle of city life, yet strategically located just minutes from the Dhela and Jhirna safari zones of the National Park, ‘Hriday Bhoomi’ (named after our two wonderful children) offers a unique experience of living in a village, right at the edge of the forest. This newly-built two-storey house has five bedrooms with attached bathrooms, a living room, a family lounge stocked with books and board games, and an open dining area — all of which welcome natural light with glass doors and windows. It also has a fully equipped kitchen with a hob, microwave, cooking utensils and crockery. For security reasons, the house is fitted with CCTV cameras in the common areas. Our home embraces greenery and landscaping has been at the heart of our design. Both the front and back lawns are well maintained and ensure a connection with nature. With colourful garden beds, borders and stone pathways, the landscaped design of the lawns brightens up our front yard.

Life in the Dhela village moves at a leisurely pace. There is no hurry or worry on people’s faces. We presume that most of our guests will be here to take a break from the fast-paced life in the cities. So, if you wish, do nothing. Just relax, soothe your tired eyes with the expansive views, watch the sunrise and sunset, gaze at the stars from the rooftop, read books or indulge in a variety of indoor games available in the family lounge. For guests who want to spend time outdoors, go cycling on the almost empty roads, take peaceful nature walks around the village, or have a small picnic by the Dhela riverside. Breathe in the fresh air and relish your time away from the dust, grime and pollution in the cities. If you wish to go for a morning or evening safari, 2 of the 5 entry gates into the Jim Corbett National Park — Dhela gate and Jhirna gate — are less than 10 minutes away. We advise you to do your safari bookings in advance to avoid disappointment due to the non-availability of vehicles.
