Our Kettuvallams (barges of yore converted into houseboats) echo our philosophy of life - only natural and local materials are used for the interiors - coir matted decks and canopies made of split bamboo and palm fronds. This simplicity is also reflected in the meals that our cook serves you on board our houseboats, which on a typical day would include among other divine dishes, the famed Karimeen and freshwater prawns. To help you experience the beauty of the backwaters in all its totality, our Kettuvallams come with extra awnings. Which not only give you the best of the breeze, but also enable you to get a better view of the unique water world of simple joys and pleasant surprises that slowly unfold before you.

The check-in time on House Boat (Spice Coast Cruises) is at 1300 hrs and the boat then sets off cruising along the backwaters of Alleppey and Kumarakom till sunset. Around 1800 hrs, the boat will be anchored to avoid interfering with the fishermen of the lake and their nets. The boats come with en-suite bedrooms that are air-conditioned (from 1900 hrs to 0700 hrs ). On the following day after breakfast, the boat will start cruising again and you will be dropped back to the jetty by 1000 hrs.
