I've lived 25 years in Norway and worked as an IT engineer in core network product development. In recent years after returning to Kerala, I built my house as a homestay for international travelers visiting Kerala and provided them with accommodation and specialty luxury travel services arranging long road trips all over south India.
We are situated on Kovalam lighthouse beach, otherwise also called the 'Eve's beach' which is one of India's most famous beaches with a number of Ayurveda and yoga centers. Many world-renowned international yoga teachers conduct their yoga retreats on our beach. Kanyakumari, India's southernmost tip where the 3 oceans meet is an 80 km drive from our property. And the famous Suchindram temple is on the way to Kanyakumari. Sree Padmanabha temple in Trivandrum (14 KM) became world famous when 5 formidable treasure chambers below the temple were opened a few years ago and were assessed to be worth 25 billion USD. Ponmudi rainforest and hill station is 65 km drive from our property and it is a good day trip destination. Munnar and Thekkady hill stations and rain forest is 7-8 hours' drive from us. Trivandrum city (14 km) has a museum in one of the old palaces and is close to one of India's best zoos that is also a great botanical garden with many auspicious tropical trees. Trivandrum is a green city. Poovar estuary where the Neyyar river runs into the Arabian ocean is 18 km. Madurai in Tamil Nādu is a 6 hours drive. Alleppey is a 4 hours drive.
