The family in Ásbrandsstaðir are children of nature and people say that we see things in nature not everybody can see. We are also musicians and sometimes play and sing during events. If our guests wanted to listen to us we would welcome that. We keep sheep, cattle, horses, ducks, and our guests can come and see them if they want. We also have 2 dogs and one of them catches everything that's thrown at her. She is very playful and it doesn't matter if it is grown ups or children. There is also a small shed for kids to play in. We have also set up a small playground with a little castle for children to play in. Guests can take a walk around the estate. The wildlife in the river area is very active, especially around Mai and June. The birds are laying their eggs and there is a good chance you'll see young birds. We also have bought a new bird watching binoculars we have established on a viewpoint. The view above the farm is also excellent and a large lake is on top of the ridge above the farm. Guests can rent golf clups for a small fee and there is also a trampoline close the cottages. Guests can also get a guide if they want.

In the river Hofsá is a little island with a diverse bird population. In the island is an easy walking path to see the birds. You can use your car to get right up to the walking path. Hunters drive a dirt road along the river but it is much more fun to walk it and be one with nature. About 4 km from Ásbrandsstaðir is a big, black, sandy beach with big rocks. Around the cottages are many walking paths who vary in difficulty. We only have our cottages closed if weather conditions are nefarious. Hellisheiði road nr. 917 becomes impassible during the winter and Vopnafjarðarheiði, road nr. 85 is difficult to pass during bad weathers, such as snowstorms where you can't really see the road.
