By Iceland’s easternmost fjord Neskaupstadur, this aparthotel features modern Scandinavian style decór and panoramic fjord views from the balcony. Each apartment at Hildibrand Apartment Hotel has a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and flat-screen TV expect the economy rooms. Hello, I am Hakon the owner of Hildibrand Hotel. I moved back to Neaskupstaður my hometown 6 years ago along with my Partner to join my parents in turning my Great-Grandfather Hildibrandur's old shop into a hotel. I studied Hotel and Restaurant Management in Switzerland and had been working and traveling abroad before moving back. My life-calling is anything relating to food , I AM A FOODIE. I take great pleasure in farming and growing food, in summer you will most likely find me in my vegetable garden, In winter I take care of our sheep's and chickens. Some of my other interest are design, art, travel, sustainability, green energy, reading, learning and good conversations.

Property info

Hildibrand Hotel and Hospitality is a family run business. The building was built buy my Great-Grandfather in the 1940's as the towns General Store. In 2014 it re-opened as the Hildibrand Hotel after full remodel. The family is farmers and we we operate our local farm where we grow most of the food offered at the hotel restaurant. In the summer 2017 we plan to open another restaurant in an old harbor house nearby, there we will offer local fish and salad that we grow at the farm. We look forward to welcoming you in Neskaupstaður.

Neighborhood info

Neskaupstaður is a fishing town set in amazing natural beauty. Some of my favorite places around here and things to do are: * The water slides at the local swimming-pool * Neskaupstaðuður nature park, walking to the beautiful Easter cave * Local botanical garden * The avalanche protection walls above town, great for hiking * The small forest by the avalanche wall * Doing day hikes in the Gerpir wildlife area, such as to Barðsnes, Viðfjörður and Hellisfjörður * Enjoying the beauty of Rauðubjörg the cliffs with golden glow. * Going on Sundays to Mjóifjörður for coffee and cakes with the local in Iceland's smallest and most isolated village.
