Kjartan D is a premium host and has a long history of welcoming guests to their temporary Icelandic homes. Birta Rentals is a family business established in 2013 and has been growing steadily since.

Property info

Our apartment is on the 1st floor in a building called Gagginn and has two bedrooms. The main bedroom has King Size bed (180x200 cm) and the second bedroom has 3 single beds (90x200 cm). We also have two foldable beds that can be placed in the main bedroom or living room if needed. In the bathroom we have a nice shower and a washing machine/dryer. There’s an airy and bright open-space kitchen/living room with very high ceiling (3.7 m) which is unusual in Iceland. The kitchen is fully equipped with 3 kinds of coffee machines (Nespresso, Dolce Gusto and brewing machine) and a variety of tea. In the living room we have 4K TV, sound system and Apple TV and there’s a balcony where you have great view over the fjord and part of the town. In summer we have a BBQ grill on the balcony

Neighborhood info

Our apartment is centrally located in Siglufjordur, north of Iceland. Siglufjörður or Sigló like the locals call it is the northernmost town on the mainland of Iceland, surrounded by dramatic mountains and beautiful nature. In Siglufjörður there is a flourishing cultural life. There are several restaurants, there are also numerous galleries and workshops, museums and our local church. During wintertime / spring you can enjoy the ski area in town, downhill or cross country. The mountains in the area are a paradise for backcountry/ski touring. Standing on top of a snow covered mountain overlooking the Atlantic ocean is an experience you won't forget. The snow reaches all the way down to the beach. Heli skiing is also very popular in Siglo and if you are interested we arrange Heli skiing with a guide. During summer time we you can play golf at the Sigló Golf course, 9 hole course, we have a beginner golf set at the apartment that you are welcome to use. There are many hiking trails and if you are up to it, the North Ultra trail run is in that area and takes place in end of August
