‘Frascje dai Spadons’ is located in Pradamano, just 10 minutes from the centre of Udine by car. The word ‘Frascje’ is a Friulan word meaning ‘branch’, but the tradition is actually Viennese. Historically, Friulan farmers offering their wines and produce for sale to locals and passers-by would display a branch outside their farm indicating that they were open to offer refreshments. The old farmhouse has been the home of the Masarotti family since 1949, where they farmed the land and reared their animals. The Frascje soon became known locally as ‘Spadons’, the family nickname. In 1988 the Frascje underwent a sympathetic but extensive renovation project, and today it is one of the few original frascjes left in Friuli, which now offers a wider range of home-produced dishes and wines, along with accommodation and great hospitality.

Our farm is just outside the village of Pradamano, but within easy walking distance. From the front of the Agriturismo you can see the mountains on the horizon, and to the back we have our vegetable gardens and vineyards.
