Your hosts, Louise and Alberto, moved to Tuscany twelve years ago after falling in love with the landscape and choosing to leave their corporate city careers behind in search of a more authentic and nature-connected way of life. In 2014, they purchased La Frattina, a property first recorded in 1823, which had been abandoned since the 1980s. Over the years, they carefully renovated every inch of the former brickworks with their own hands, following a slow and thoughtful restoration process that respects traditional Tuscan architecture, craftsmanship, and rural heritage. Cooking and working with food has been Alberto’s dream since childhood, and his passion is reflected in the dishes prepared at La Frattina. Louise, in turn, fulfilled her own dream of living closer to the land, caring for the garden, fruit trees, and vegetable plots that support the kitchen.

Agriturismo La Frattina is a charming Tuscan farmhouse nestled between the rolling hills of the Crete Senesi and the gentle landscapes of Val d’Orcia, in southern Tuscany. Lunch is available during the peak summer season, while dinner is offered on selected evenings twice per week. Menus vary according to the season and availability and are inspired by traditional Tuscan cuisine. Picnic baskets can also be arranged for a perfect al fresco moment. La Frattina produces its own extra-virgin olive oil from 480 olive trees, and also cultivates fruit trees, vegetables, and herbs.

La Frattina is perfectly positioned for discovering some of Tuscany’s most celebrated landscapes, villages, and experiences. Set in the heart of Brunello di Montalcino wine country, the farmhouse is surrounded by renowned wineries where guests can enjoy tours and tastings; advance reservations are recommended, and assistance with planning is available. Thermal towns such as Bagno Vignoni, Bagni San Filippo, Chianciano Terme, and San Casciano dei Bagni offer soothing hot springs and natural pools, ideal for a restorative day trip. The surrounding countryside is exceptional for hiking and biking, with scenic trails beginning close to the property. E-bikes are available on-site, making it easy to explore the rolling hills, vineyards, and panoramic routes that define the region.
