My name is Franca and I am your host at Alpin Chalet Frenademetz. I am delighted to welcome people from all over the world to our little retreat in the Dolomites. I love nature, the mountains, and the tranquil beauty of our homeland. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, cooking with locally sourced ingredients, and simply being outside and breathing in the fresh mountain air. I am also particularly fond of our small apiary — working with bees fascinates me and helps me to connect with the natural rhythm of the seasons even more. You will find a sample of our honey waiting for you as a small gift when you arrive. Campill is a small, picturesque village in the municipality of St. Martin in Thurn. Surrounded by breathtaking mountain landscapes and dense forests, the area offers the perfect blend of nature, tradition, and Alpine charm. 1. Mountain landscape The area is characterised by the majestic Dolomites, which are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The mountains rise up in striking formations, with steep rock faces and peaks offering spectacular views. 2. Nature and hiking trails The region is a paradise for hikers and nature lovers alike. There are numerous trails leading through pristine forests, across lush meadows, and alongside crystal-clear mountain streams. The trail to the Mill Valley near Seres and Miscí is particularly popular. There are also challenging tours of the surrounding peaks for experienced mountaineers. 3. Farms and tradition In the Campill area, you will find many traditional South Tyrolean farms with a long history in the region. These are known as 'Viles', or hamlets. 4. St Martin in Thurn and the Museum Ladin The village has a strong Ladin identity and is an important centre for Ladin culture. A visit to the Museum Ladin is highly recommended. Here, you can gain a deeper insight into the history, traditions and language of the Ladin people. 5. Winter activities In winter, the region transforms into a true winter wonderland. The nearby Kronplatz ski area offers slopes for all abilities, and the snow-covered forests provide an idyllic setting for relaxation and activities such as ski touring and snowshoeing. 7.
