About Me – Host of IL PESCE FUOR D'ACQUA – THE FISH OUT OF WATER I'm Riccardo, born in Sardinia in 1968, and since 1994, Jesi in the Marche region has been my home—a land that welcomed me and where I chose to build my life and business. In 2017, I embraced hospitality, opening my first guesthouse. Before, I managed long-term rentals but faced many challenges, including difficult tenants, which led me to focus on genuine hospitality based on care and attention. Today, I run IL PESCE FUOR D'ACQUA – THE FISH OUT OF WATER, two independent mini-apartments near Jesi’s historic center. The name reflects my tendency to see things from many perspectives, like a "pesce fuor d’acqua" (fish out of water), helping me understand every guest as unique. My aim is to create a cozy, welcoming environment where guests feel at home, even when far away. I speak Italian and French, and with my team, I also assist English and Romanian speakers. I offer transfers from train stations or airports and organize private tours with my 8-seater van, showing guests the authentic, lesser-known beauty of the Marche—from the sea to the mountains. Sharing the stories and secrets of this land is my passion and makes every stay memorable. My style is simple and personal, like a host who truly wants guests to feel at home. A guest once said, "You saved my life." While I don’t fully agree, it expresses the warmth and dedication I strive to offer, even outside normal hours. I love traveling, cooking, and working as a taxi driver, where I keep meeting new people and offering the same attentive, respectful service.
