La Casa di Nena is a charming apartment just renovated, inside a historic building in the heart of San Miniato. The apartment is equipped with every comforts you need to spend a pleasant and relaxing holyday in peace. The furnishings of the rooms, and the layout of the apartment helps create a pleasant atmosphere that, we are sure, will make you feel at ease. On the large terrace, at your complete disposal, you will enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding countryside, you can also spend pleasant evenings sipping prosecco or having delicious dinners under the stars.

I am Paolo, a retired banker, together with my wife Paola and our daughters Elena and Teresa we decided to renovate and give new life to an old apartment, in the family building, where our aunt Ardenia, known as Nena, used to live and where during our childhood we create unforgettable memories with her. We have always liked to travel, discover new places and immerse ourselves in local cultures. We therefore decided to start this experience by opening our renoved house to people that, like us, love to immerge in different cultures and whant to experience the Italian way of life. I am a dynamic and sporty person, passionate about running, in fact I ran numerous marathons; I even love cycling, especially with vintage bikes. I participated in many editions of the Eroica in Gaiole in Chianti, and Gravel as in our territory it’s possible to take spectacular itineraries surrounded by nature. During your stay I will be delighted to recommend you routes and itineraries suitable for everyone. I even play golf so I can direct you to the most beautiful clubs in the area, all within a radius of 20 km from San Miniato, or to the best courses in Tuscany. As a family we love Italian cusine and we are passionate about our culinary traditions so we’ll be more than delighted to share with you our best recipes in order to make your Italian experience better and better.

La Casa di Nenna is located in the historical center of San Miniato, therefore the whole town is easily accessible on foot for a visit to all the places of interest, from the Piazza del Duomo, to the Cathedral. The Tower of Federico II is one of the city’s most distinctive monuments, from it’s lawn you can enjoy a 360° view over most of Tuscany, on clear days the view goes from the sea to the mountains. It’s impossible to forget, among San Miniato’s places of interest, Piazza del Seminario, or the Convent of San Francesco and many more places full of history and charm. In San Miniato you can find many Restaurants, Trattorias, Bars, Pubs, Wine Cellars, for every taste where you can certainly try and fall in love with the typical Tuscan cuisine. It is also possible to buy in the shops typical products of the area, like wines, oil, cold cuts and, when in season (from October to December) the precious white truffle of San Miniato culinary delicacy of the territory. In November, for over 50 years, the Truffle Festival has been held over the last 3 weekends of the month, this festival is an international food and wine event where all kind of delicacy can be tasted and purchased. In those weekends numerous events are organized and the town is filled with stands selling typical products from the area, from other Italian regions and even from some other parts of Europe. San Miniato, thanks to its location, is the ideal place to relax, enjoy the Italian lifestyle and visit Tuscany, in fact our lovely town is just about 40 km far from Florence and Pisa, Lucca, Livorno, Siena, the Chianti area and the sea are equally easy to reach. Near the house, about 100 meters away, in Piazza Bonaparte, you can find the Bus stop that will allow you to easily reach San Miniato’s train station.
