The Locanda is an individual business started anew in 2013 inside my grand-grandparents’ house, aiming to revitalise places and things that represent a part of our family history and would otherwise remain buried in a warehouse. It was an instinctive choice and although the work proved to be harder than expected, the results and the appreciation of our many guests have confirmed it was the right thing to do.

Stay at the Locanda and you’ll feel like you are travelling into the past. The house is located in the town centre, part of a typical Lombard courtyard, with the last renovation project having retained the distinctive characteristics of the early 1930s. Every piece of furniture is original or, if added more recently, belongs to the same age. It’s a unique project that combines the appeal of vintage with the comfort of new technology. Our guests often remember things seen at their grandparents’ houses and immediately feel at home. The courtyard guarantees secure parking; a single app on your smartphone gives full independence to come and go at all times; a lift takes you to the upper floors effortlessly and independent climate control offers a personalised level of comfort. Soft bed linen; comfortable mattresses; extra large showers and soundproof windows help to create the perfect conditions for a good sleep. When you wake up: breakfast served at your table including mocha coffee and home-made cakes. Serious cyclists will find a secure place to park their bicycles at night with a well equipped tune-up corner featuring bicycle workstand; set of bike tools; air compressor and hot water sink.

Vigevano is a hidden gem that reveals little-known treasures: the Piazza Ducale is one of the most beautiful in Italy (and hence, the World); the Castello Sforzesco is one of the largest in-town castles in Europe; manufacturing companies lead in all sectors of shoe industry (the “stiletto” high heel was invented here in 1953); the Parco del Ticino (the Ticino river flows close to the town) enables you to spend a few hours amidst an unexpected abundance of nature.
